Introduction

AI Search does not change the fundamentals. A page that answers the user’s question quickly still wins — but today that answer must also be understood by a language model.

Preparing a site for traditional SEO and AI-powered search starts with the same thing: understanding why someone visits the page. The difference is that content now needs to be organised so it is clear to a person, a search crawler and a system that builds an answer from multiple sources.

01

Start with questions, not keywords

A list of phrases alone does not tell you what the audience needs. Two people can type the same query but expect completely different answers.

Before outlining headings, review conversations with clients, form enquiries and questions that regularly come up in sales. These materials help create a useful intent map: informational, comparative and transactional.

This is also a good time to decide which question deserves its own page. One page does not have to answer everything. It should answer one specific need well and lead to the next step.

02

Check intent before writing

For every important URL, answer a few simple questions. This keeps the content from becoming just a collection of phrases and helps users find the right information faster.

Key questionWhat decision should this page make easier?
  • Is the user looking for an explanation, comparison or provider?
  • What doubts might they have before getting in touch?
  • What evidence will confirm that we are worth trusting?
  • What next step do we suggest after reading?
03

Build an architecture that can grow

Good architecture organises the offer for the audience and shows search engines how the individual topics are connected.

Do not try to put the entire offer on one page. It is better to separate topics and connect them with logical links.

04

Take care of the technical foundations

AI Search does not remove the need to care about traditional SEO. If a site is slow, difficult to use on mobile or has chaotic headings, good content will not fix the whole problem.

05

Write specifically instead of sounding “professional”

AI models can use text more easily when it names the audience, the problem and the result. Users expect exactly the same thing.

Vague claim

“We offer modern and innovative solutions tailored to the client’s needs.”

Specific message

“We design company websites for B2B services that organise the offer and increase the number of valuable enquiries.”

Important for AI SearchDo not write content solely for a model-generated answer.

Users still need to reach the site, understand the offer and find it credible. An extensive FAQ without experience, examples and a clear offer will not replace a good website.

The best optimisation is not about adding more phrases. It is about giving the right person the right answer in the right place.

Summary

A website prepared for AI Search and traditional SEO is not created through a single plugin change. It is the result of decisions made from strategy through to code.

Remember

  • Start by understanding the audience’s intent and questions.
  • Separate topics into distinct, logical pages.
  • Be specific and show evidence instead of promises.
  • Only then refine the technical details, schema and speed.
